As we begin a time of Lenten reflection and look towards renewal, consider coming to Saint James for fellowship, community, and yes–fish…delicious baked or fried. We will be preparing meals every Friday during Lent. The Fish Fry is all about community. Over the last decade plus, people have gathered, friendships have been made, faith has been shared, and a whole lot of fish has been fried! We look forward to seeing you!
The Saint James Fish Fry began in 2010 and has been going and growing ever since. We are a volunteer run, community fish fry. The donations we receive for the meals help fund the costs of the fry, meals to those who need assistance, and our social outreach programs which serve hundreds in our area.
We hope you can join us. We hold our Fish Fry at Saint James’ Parish School, Saint James Catholic School. Click on one of the following links for more information.

Volunteers
Many volunteers are needed to make the Fish Fry a success! We need help all day long on Fridays: setting up, preparing/serving food, and cleaning up. There’s a job for everyone, including teens in need of service hours. Volunteers are especially needed for the parking lot (order taking and directing traffic in Lot B) and cleanup. It is a wonderful way to meet your fellow parishioners.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR WHEN YOU ARRIVE! (OR HAVE YOUR CHILDREN KNOW WHAT YOU SIGNED THEM UP FOR WHEN THEY ARRIVE)!
All Church activities, including Fish Fry, require volunteers to dress modestly. Shirts/tops must fully cover shoulders, chest, and mid-drif. Therefore, backless, halter, low-cut, tank, cropped, and tube tops are not permitted at Fish Fry. Short spandex/bike and cut-off shorts are not allowed. If yoga pants or leggings are worn, shirts/tops must provide coverage below the hips. Flip-flops, slides, slippers, and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Sometimes we will need help in a different area than you signed up for- please be flexible and willing to pitch in when the needs change!
We usually still need an additional 20-25 volunteers as we come on Fridays, especially during the critical 5:30-8:00pm timeframe. If you can volunteer any amount of time, please complete the online signup below. This is a great community event. Any questions, email Meaghan Kane [email protected].
