Below are the groups meeting starting in September 2026. Some meet year round; others run from September-May or June. If you are interested in joining a group, please contact the leader of that group directly.
NOTE: All groups welcome new members but you are encouraged to contact the POC before attending for the first time to ensure that meeting has not been cancelled.
Tuesday
Saint James Fraternity, Weekly 7:00am-7:45am; Parish House
The format is a short talk on prayer, mortification or apostolate, followed by an examination of conscience, and an opportunity to share your accountability in these areas with your peers. Wednesday
Women’s Morning Study, Weekly 9:30am-11:30am; IHM Conference Room
Begins September 9th. This session we will be studying the teachings of the Church by reading Foundations of Faith: A Journey Through the Catechism of the Catholic Church, from Ascension Press. We will view the accompanying videos at the end of each lesson. Participants will need to purchase the workbook and bring a Catechism as well. Mothers of Young Children, First Wednesday 7:15pm-8:45pm; Parish House
The first meeting will be September 2nd and continues through June 2027. We invite all interested to our study this year on Mulieris Dignitatem: The Dignity and Vocation of Women, by Endow groups (using the apostolic letter by Pope St. John Paul II). Co-ed study, 1st and 3rd Thursdays 9:30am-11:45 am; IHM Conference Room
Our meet-and-greet and first meeting will be on September 3rd, the first Thursday. In our study this fall, we enter The Bible and the Church Fathers from the Saint Paul Center’s Journey Through Scripture. It introduces us to the great heroes of the early church, the heresies they fought against, and how they read and interpreted the Scripture’s relationship to Tradition, and particularly the sacraments. Women’s Bible Study, Weekly 7:00pm-9:00pm; IHM Conference Room
Meet three weeks a month with extra time off for holidays.
- September 17th-December 10th—St. Paul Center for Biblical study on The Bible and the Sacraments. These masterworks of God have been part of God’s plan of our salvation from the beginning. Join us in this 11-part series.
- January7th-February 4th—Ascension Press’s Life Everlasting: Heaven, Hell, Death, and Judgment. This mini-study combines clear meaning, meaningful reflection, and practical application to help you understand what the Church teaches about heaven, hell, death, and judgment.
- February 18th-May 20th—Lectio: Salvation New Life in Christ—Augustine Institute’s study on what salvation means. A thorough, deeply Catholic, and deeply biblical answer is provided in this 10-part series. Contact: Patti Valancius at [email protected] or 703-887-6659

Co-ed Study, Every Saturday 10:00am-12:00pm; Parish House Kitchen
The co-ed Bible study resumes on Saturday, September 5th. Join us to read and discuss the Scripture readings for the next Sunday mass. This is a great opportunity to prepare for the Sunday celebration of the Sacred Mysteries. We meet in the Parish House kitchen (the back part of the house) from 10:00am-12:00pm.
