The Community on FYRE (Charismatic Prayer Group) meets on Tuesdays from 7:30pm-9:00pm in Knecht. FYRE stands for Further Your Revelation Experience and is a mini “school of prayer.” Individuals do not have to be charismatic to join the group. We have had people visiting the area who just want to come for prayer and encouragement.
It is a place where welcome surrounds you as you learn to form the strong bonds of friendship with the living Jesus through praise and worship. The meetings include someone presenting a teaching that can include scripture, a devotional reading, Catechism, priests’ homilies, etc. Afterwards members share their questions and thoughts. We occasionally have outside speakers give talks to our group.
The end of our meeting is devoted to prayer requests. Sometimes we pray by “laying hands” on individuals who request it. On occasion we interact with other charismatic prayer groups for programs, gatherings, special events, etc. We also attend the Diocesan Healing Masses. Our goal is to deepen our personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and fellowship with others.
