Reverend Raymond Emedo

Priest in Residence

Fr. Raymond Emedo

As we said goodbye to Father Joel Kwame on June 30th, we welcomed Father Raymond Emedo to Saint James. Read his bio below to learn more about him.

I was born in Lagos, Nigeria, as the youngest of eight children, three boys and five girls. On November 8, 2018, I was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Lagos. Afterwards, I served as parochial vicar at the Holy Cross Cathedral until December 2023 when I moved to the U.S. to begin studies initially at the Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

This fall, I will begin studies at the Divine Mercy University in pursuit of a Doctor of Psychology degree. I enjoy participating in sporting activities such as soccer, table tennis, and lawn tennis.

I have a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, inculcated in me by my family upbringing as we all belonged to the Block Rosary Crusade and the Legion of Mary. Indeed, I am glad to be here and look forward to being of some pastoral assistance.
